Reasons Why We Should Do Prepping

WRITTEN BY: Dave Rogers

(1) IT IS A LIFESTYLE.

This is a part of God's design for a good disciple of Yeshua (Jesus):

(2) I'M NOT WORSE THAN AN UNBELIEVER - DUTY TO FAMILY.

It's not about us as an individual, but about our Godly duty to our family. As a single person alone without any family, you only risk your life. As someone with a family (spouse, kids and yes parents, in-laws) we are commanded in multiple, multiple places in the Bible to take care of family (and yes, even if they are not believers). For example, the Apostle Paul in 1st Timothy 5:8 says if you don't take care of your relatives you have 'denied the faith and are worse than an unbeliever.'

This duty is also God's Social Security plan for the elderly. They wipe our butts when we are little and we wipe theirs when they are old. Yes, it's true and it's a holy duty.

(3) GOD CAN DIRECTLY BLESS ME.

What!? Really!  Yea!

Okay think about this... I go to Walmart to buy beans vs I grow beans. God can directly bless you with 'beans!' Really!? LOL. Yes.

Buying from Walmart, God had to have blessed the farmer, the harvester (sometimes the same), the middleman/distributor/warehouse, the wholesaler, and the grocery store just so you can buy beans from Walmart. That's a whole lot of 'things gotta go right' for you to just buy beans from Walmart.

Reading through the Bible you will learn that God interacts with.... (drum-roll please): his people who are farmers, ranchers, fishers, etc and blesses them 'specially' and 'directly' through what they do. SO, part of the 'bountiful nature of God's blessings' are in-fact tied up and directly connected to.... NATURE (i.e. farming, ranching, fishing, etc). So, those who don't... well, they are just missing a very, very, very big part of how God wants to bless us.

(4) FOR THE KINGDOM... FOR THE TESTIMONY IN ME.

God develops us, teaches us, builds us up in learning, knowing, and walking out (living) the Scripture where we also become 'the Living Word.' God invests a lot of time and effort in us. DID YOU EVER THINK that God wants his 'testimony' in us to continue to be shared with others for a longer period of time? Yeah. It's not about us. It's about God.

God had to kick MY BUTT and dramatically change my attitude about not considering prepping important. God has a very big boot size. Getting 'corrected' (disciplined) by him is an experience that one appreciates in the end but can be traumatic so I can change quickly and remember the lesson.
